call for papers & abstracts

Public relations professionals, educators, and graduate students are invited to submit competitive abstracts for paper presentations at the premier public relations research conference, the 29th International Public Relations Research Conference (IPRRC), to be held March 5-7, 2026. This year’s theme focuses on “Research relevant to the PR Profession.” This conference attempts to integrate academic insights and professional practices, so authors are required to address their studies’ practical implications in both the abstracts submitted and the conference presentation.

This conference is distinctly different from other conferences in that initial paper acceptance is based on a one-page abstract submitted for competitive consideration. Abstracts can include either completed research or research-in-progress. Programming preference will be given to completed research. To complete the abstract submission, please follow the instructions below. Not following the procedure will result in disqualification of your abstract submission.

imporTANT INFORMATION

Steps (1) (2) and (3) need to be completed by the deadline (Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 11:59pm Eastern Time) for the submission to be considered as complete. Not following the procedure will result in disqualification of your abstract submission.

Given the increasing number of papers submitted for consideration each year, each author is restricted to no more than two abstract submissions regardless of authorship. For each submission, you need a new, separate entry by following the link. The anonymized abstract will then be reviewed by three reviewers from the IPRRC board of directors and advisory committee.

Acceptance notification will be sent to the corresponding author(s) indicated in the submission by Friday, November 21, 2025. Authors of accepted abstracts will then be invited to compete for awards by submitting full papers by Monday, December 22, 2025. Separate instructions of award submission and presentation guidelines will be provided along with acceptance notification.

for presenters

For your presentation, we recommend providing an executive summary of your findings, along with handouts that offer more detailed information (typically 1-2 pages).

Please note that we do not provide projection equipment and we discourage the use of PowerPoint presentations via laptop. However, if you choose to use a laptop, we will not confiscate it. Be sure to rehearse your presentation thoroughly—our experience shows that by the third presentation, you will have refined your approach to meet expectations.
