call for papers & abstracts
Public relations professionals, educators, and graduate students are invited to submit competitive abstracts for paper presentations at The 28th International Public Relations Research Conference (IPRRC), held March 6-8, 2025. This year’s theme focuses on “Research relevant to the PR Profession”. This conference attempts to integrate academic insights and professional practices, so authors are required to address their studies’ practical implications in both the abstracts submitted and the conference presentation.
This conference is distinctly different from other conferences in that initial paper acceptance is based on a one-page abstract submitted for competitive consideration. Abstracts can include either completed research or research-in-progress. Programming preference will be given to completed research.
To complete the abstract submission, please follow the instructions below. Not following the procedure will result in disqualification of your abstract submission.
submission guidelines
Step 1
Click ‘create a record’ to create an account. *NOTE: Only one author for each submission must do this. The account will be made on the BEA platform.
Once created Return to the IPRRC Submission Site
Step 2
Once the account is created, click Login to submit your abstract.
Click Submit, Begin a new Submission, and follow the prompts.
Use the first page as your title page and include the following: author names and affiliations, corresponding author email addresses, submission category (General or Student), and a short version of your abstract in less than 50 words. On the second page, provide an anonymized copy of your paper including title and the complete, full-length one-page abstract. The abstract should be single-spaced, using 12-pt Times New Roman font with 1-inch margins all around on letter size (8.5 x 11 in or A4) paper. Please see this example template.
Step 3
Upload your submission! BE SURE TO CLICK SAVE AND FINALIZE.
imporTANT INFORMATION:
All steps need to be completed by the deadline (Wednesday, November 06, 2024 at 11:59pm Eastern Time) for the submission to be considered as complete. Not following the procedure will result in disqualification of your abstract submission.
Each author is restricted to no more than two abstract submissions regardless of authorship. Use separate Abstract/Author(s) Information Form entries for each abstract submitted. The blinded abstract will then be reviewed by three members from the IPRRC board of directors and advisory committee.
Acceptance notification will be sent to the corresponding author(s) by Sunday, Dec. 15. Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to compete for awards by submitting full papers by Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025. Separate instructions of award submission and presentation guidelines will be provided along with acceptance notification.
for presenters
For your presentation, we recommend providing an executive summary of your findings, along with handouts that offer more detailed information (typically 1-2 pages).
Please note that we do not provide projection equipment and we discourage the use of PowerPoint presentations via laptop. However, if you choose to use a laptop, we will not confiscate it. Be sure to rehearse your presentation thoroughly—our experience shows that by the third presentation, you will have refined your approach to meet expectations.
